The Small Print
Cookie policy
We use cookies to see what's working on the site and to remember what you were planning. Here's exactly what that means.
Your choice
Cookies are on.
What we collect
- Which pages you visit, what you click, and how far you scroll.
- Anonymous recordings of how people move around the site, so we can fix what's confusing. Anything typed into a form is hidden from those recordings.
- Your rough location and device type, as your browser reports them.
- What kind of day you seem to be planning (a company outing or a bachelorette), so the site can show you the right things when you come back.
- Which link brought you here, so we know which of our posts are actually useful.
Who sees it
Only Austin Wine Car. We use two tools to collect it: Google Analytics and PostHog. We don't sell it, we don't use advertising cookies, and we don't follow you around the internet.
What we keep on your device
Google Analytics and PostHog each set a small cookie (names starting with _ga and ph_). We also keep a short note in your browser (names starting with awc-) that remembers your cookie choice and what you were planning. Booking and payment happen on Stripe's secure checkout page, which has its own cookies and its own privacy policy.
Where you are matters
If you're visiting from the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we ask first: nothing is tracked until you say yes, and you can take it back any time. Everywhere else, cookies are on unless you opt out. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out.
Changing your mind
Use the switch on this page, or "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of every page. Saying no turns off PostHog, makes Google Analytics cookieless, and deletes the notes we kept in your browser. Everything on the site, booking included, works the same either way. You can also block cookies in your browser's settings.
